Great piece! Having grown up in Russia myself, I can appreciate the paradoxes of state-sponsored “feminism” and ingrained sexism. However, the roots of the International Women’s Day are actually in U.S. based socialism. It marked a large textile women’s strike against inhumane working conditions. I think there is good reason to celebrate it with that origin in mind.
